Research interests

 

System Engineering as my major is, I devote in the modeling issues for a variety of Discrete Event Dynamic Systems and the optimization to them.  Queueing theory provides analytical models for estimating the system's performance, while it may need some improvement  to handle logic procedures or some certain system structure, for example, deal with a fork/join system which is known as a hard problem in queueing theory.  In respect of optimization especially for large-scale system, there are two kinds of methodologies -- Mathematic programming usually requires some reasonable approximations to the real system problem, even though, it may not be able to work out singly due to the problem scale or randomness.  However, it provides important information on the problem structure which will guide heuristic methods like GA, OO, and NP etc., which make it much more efficient on applying such heuristic methods.  Besides mathematic programming, statistics methods and intelligent techniques may contribute in learning the problem structure.
